Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity, and IoT Discount) attaches great importance to the protection of personal data in the conduct of its business activities. Personal data is processed and secured with the utmost care. Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity, and IoT Discount) complies with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in all cases.

Processing of personal data

Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity, and IoT Discount) records personal data about you in the context of its services when you visit our website(s), request information, place an order, use our services, participate in promotions, or otherwise contact us.

We make a distinction here between:

  • Personal data: data that can be traced back to your identity, such as name, address, telephone number, email address, organization, job title, customer number, IP address in combination with other data, etc.
  • Anonymous or anonymized data: data that can no longer be traced back to your identity, for example aggregated statistics regarding the use of our services or website.

Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity and IoT Discount) can obtain personal data in various ways:

  • Through data you provide yourself (for example, when requesting a quote, taking out a subscription, or creating an account).
  • Through data generated during the use of our services and products (such as IoT and M2M SIM cards, connectivity services, management portals, private APN, VPN solutions).
  • Through data automatically collected when visiting our website, such as IP addresses, cookie data, and click behavior (see also “Use of cookies”).

When you visit our website, it is necessary to collect certain information to ensure the connection runs smoothly. For example, the web server needs your IP address to deliver the requested pages to you. This IP address is assigned to your device by your internet provider. It is not possible for Simhuis BV to identify you solely based on your IP address, unless you share this information with us yourself in combination with other data.

Click behavior and statistics

On the website(s) of Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity, and IoT Discount), general, non-identifiable visitor data is tracked, such as most visited pages and click behavior. This data is used exclusively to optimize the design and operation of the website and to better tailor our information to visitors. This allows us to further improve our services.

We value your privacy. Therefore, we only share your personal data with third parties if this is necessary for:

  • hosting and IT service providers (for example, for management platforms, portals, and cloud environments);
  • (online) marketing and review platforms (for example WebwinkelKeur), insofar as you make use of them or have been invited to provide a review;
  • administration and accounting firms;
  • where applicable: insurers, repair companies, equipment manufacturers or risk assessors.

We enter into data processing agreements with all third parties who process personal data on our behalf, in which security, confidentiality, and your rights are regulated, among other things. All contracting parties that process personal data on our behalf are established within the European Union, or we ensure adequate safeguards for transfers outside the EU (such as standard contractual clauses).

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

Use of personal data

Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity and IoT Discount) stores your personal data in one (or more) central database(s). We use your personal data for, among other things, the following purposes:

  • Entering into and executing agreements, including the supply of SIM cards, connectivity services, management portals, private APN, VPN, and any additional services.
  • Processing orders, (de)activation of services, provisioning, fault handling, and customer service.
  • Managing invoicing and administration.
  • Improving our products and services, including through analysis of usage data at an aggregated level.
  • Informing about changes to our services, terms, or rates.
  • Sending information about new services or products and offers from Simhuis BV, to the extent permitted by law (“soft opt-in” for existing customers) or based on your consent.

If you no longer wish to receive our commercial information (newsletters, offers), you can unsubscribe at any time via the unsubscribe link in our messages or by contacting us at info@simhuis.nl. We will then stop sending marketing information, with the exception of necessary service messages.

Simhuis BV does not transfer personal data to persons or companies outside Simhuis BV, unless this is legally required or necessary for the execution of an agreement that Simhuis BV has concluded with you.

Legal basis for processing

We process your personal data only if there is a valid legal basis for doing so under the GDPR:

  • execution of an agreement;
  • complying with a legal obligation;
  • our legitimate interest (for example, security, fraud prevention, service improvement, limited marketing to existing customers);
  • your consent, for example for certain cookies or marketing activities.

When processing is based on consent, you may withdraw this consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of the processing before withdrawal.

Storage of personal data

We do not retain your personal data for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law or regulation.

  • We retain administrative and tax records (such as invoices and contract details) for at least seven (7) years in accordance with the tax retention obligation.
  • We retain usage and log data for as long as necessary for delivery, security, billing, and support, and then delete or anonymize it.
  • We retain data that you provide via contact forms, email, or telephone for as long as necessary to process the request and for a reasonable period thereafter, for example for evidentiary and quality purposes.
  • Cookie data is stored in accordance with the periods in our cookie statement and/or as set in your browser.

Access, correction, data portability and deletion

As a customer of Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity and IoT Discount), you can submit a request at any time for:

  • access to the personal data that we process about you;
  • correction of incorrect or incomplete data;
  • deletion of your personal data (insofar as we are not required to retain it pursuant to a legal obligation);
  • restriction of processing;
  • portability (data portability) of certain data;
  • objection to processing based on legitimate interest or to use for direct marketing.

You can do this via our customer service or by contacting us via info@simhuis.nl. To protect your privacy, we may ask you to adequately identify yourself so that we do not share your data with unauthorized persons.

If you are subscribed to a subscription service with a telecom provider via Simhuis BV, it is possible that we cannot (yet) delete certain personal data as long as the agreement with the provider is in effect or statutory retention periods apply. After the contractual and statutory periods have expired, you may submit a request for deletion.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority, the privacy supervisory authority in the Netherlands.

Security of your personal data

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss or any form of unlawful processing. This includes:

  • use of secure connections (https/SSL);
  • access security and logging;
  • regular updates and monitoring of systems;
  • internal procedures and employee awareness;
  • restricting access to personal data to employees for whom this is necessary.

All employees of Simhuis BV treat your data confidentially. We regularly evaluate our security measures and adjust them where necessary.

Objection to processing and access

You may object to the processing of your personal data by Simhuis BV (trading under the names M2Mdata, M2M Connectivity and IoT Discount) when we process it on the basis of a legitimate interest, for example for analyses, marketing or sales activities.

You may object separately to the following forms of approach:

  • benadering via e‑mail, sms of WhatsApp;
  • telephone approach (telemarketing);
  • written approach.
